Baldwin Homes – Maryland Green Designer Show Home to Feature Providence Products
Glen Burnie – Providence, a non-profit organization that serves adults with developmental disabilities, announced today that its products will be featured and sold at the Maryland Green Designer Show Home, a home built by Baldwin Homes. Mike Baldwin, President and CEO of Baldwin Homes, an Anne Arundel County based Maryland builder specializing in green and energy efficient homes, is a member of one of Providence’s founding families. The home is located on Holladay Park Road in Gambrills. Pottery from Providence’s studio in Arnold and wood products from its woodshop in Millersville will be among the items available.
Tom Wright, Providence Director of Production, welcomed the new partnership, particularly because of the family connection to Providence and Baldwin Homes recent award as Green Business of the Year by the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce. “We are thrilled to have our products showcased in Maryland’s first green designer show home with its environmentally-friendly focus. Not only are our products top quality, they are also green products themselves. Their production and sale help our participants gain greater independence by providing them a paycheck for the work they produce. This new partnership is an important piece for Providence to meet our mission and provide the best care and support to those we serve while also advancing the shared mission of Providence and Baldwin Homes to improve our communities by working to product our environment and our precious Chesapeake Bay.”
Mike Baldwin added, “Providence is like a member of our family. I am pleased to offer their products to our visitors. Providence is an important organization that needs the support of our entire community so that it can continue to provide the vital services it does every day. I am also proud to feature their green products that demonstrate that Providence is doing its part to improving our environment. Those of us that live, work, and play in and around the Chesapeake Bay know how important it is to protect our communities so that future generations can also enjoy it for generations to come. I hope people will visit the home, learn more about green building, and support the charitable organizations that have products available, including the beautiful wood and pottery from Providence.”
Chuck Coble, Executive Director of Providence, thanked Baldwin and urged the community to continue to support our artists, potters, growers, and woodworkers. “The Baldwin family has been a critical Providence partner for more than 50 years,” Coble said. “I am glad to further strengthen our relationship with this new partnership with Baldwin Homes. We could not do the work we do without the partnerships we have throughout Anne Arundel County and the region. By supporting our work, our community is making a truly positive impact on the extraordinary men and women we serve that are carving out their futures each day.”
